Fort Kochi
There’s no better way to celebrate collective knowledge and ideas than art. Everywhere in the world, art is celebrated in ways unique to socio-cultural and ethnic aspects. A land so rich and diverse when it comes to art, Kerala hosts many resplendent fests where artists come together to express themselves. Perhaps the most noted event among these is the Kochi Muziris Biennale that is held annually. It is where the world comes together to share thoughts, ideas and art.
Kochi Muziris Biennale is one of the biggest and finest art festivals in the world today with lakhs of participants from across the world. The event is also the largest art exhibition in India and the biggest contemporary art festival anywhere in Asia. Biennale is an exuberant initiative of the Kochi Biennale Foundation, which is aptly supported by the Government of Kerala. The venues for the festival are the historic town of Fort Kochi and the neighbouring locales. Internationally acclaimed artists come here every year to exhibit their work across diverse mediums such as sculptures, installations, paintings, performing arts and even films. The art-loving community from different parts of the globe also attend to appreciate these efforts. The Biennale is also a stage for collaborations and interactive sessions including seminars, talks, screenings, workshops and activities for students are held.
